There is plenty to do and see in the region:

Retail Therapy
For your groceries, meat, fruit and veg, pharmaceuticals and liquor, the quaint village of Magaliesburg (20k’s away) will provide it all. Also very good biltong!

If art is your thing, there are some wonderful galleries and craft shops. Western Cane Trading is the place for stunning cane furniture and interesting antiques. Crystals are in abundance at Crystal Feeling – SA’s number 1 crystal and gem shop. There is also a wonderful candle shop, where you get to make your own candles! Follow signs from the village.

Pampering
There are a number of Spa’s in the area for a bit of pampering….why not!

Sport and Adventure
There is abseiling, fishing, micro lighting, gliding, and what about the unforgettable Magaliesburg Canopy Tour – not far from Intaba Thulile. Contact: (014) 535 0150

Cradle of Humankind
And an absolute ‘must do’ if visiting the vicinity of the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site is ‘Humankind’s Oldest History Lesson’ – the Sterkfontein Caves; and Maropeng – the official visitor centre for the Cradle of Humankind – an incredible journey of discovery for the whole family.

Blaauwbank Gold Mine
Still in ‘back through the corridors of time' mode – visit the Blaauwbank Historic Gold Mine and Resort, and experience the original workings of the oldest gold mine in Gauteng! Just outside the village of Magaliesburg.

Where to eat
For fine dining, or just a snack, there are plenty of places to choose from. Recommended is a charming country restaurant called Barton’s Folly. Call Joy on 082 901 1382 / 082 820 9083; also visit Melon Rouge - ( 014) 5771951 for an interesting combination of ‘eatery and art’.
